Profile

Peter and Kathryn Yaxley met whilst studying at the Bible College of SA.  After filling various ministry roles in SA including leading Baptist 20+ and working in youth work in Trinity Baptist Church, the Lord called them to South-East Tasmania in 2000. Though they went with thoughts to church plant they ended up serving with all the seven churches in their local region, facilitating combined prayer and outreach into primary and secondary schools including school chaplaincy. They also became involved in community outreach in their local town of Primrose Sands, where they ran the local youth group and facilitated many Christian ministries into the town.  Mentoring emerging leaders, both individuals and couples, was something they also enjoyed.  They did this for 15 years (sent out by Clarence Baptist Fellowship, Hobart) as well as working with their local Christian Leader’s Network, Scripture Union, Fusion and YWAM.

The Tasmanian fires in 2013, which were in their region, signaled change from this settled period of ministry. Emerging instead was a call to itinerant equipping ministry which began in 2015 under the name of Kingdom Presence Ministries. Calling home their ute and slide on, they stepped out into mobile ministry taking with them resources they had written and leading workshops on Hearing God’s Whispers and Prayer.

Since 2015 they have travelled through all six states, running over 100 workshops and meetings across the denominational spread (including Lutheran, Church of Christ, Baptist, Anglican, Uniting, Pentecostal, Salvation Army, ecumenical, WEC, AGLOW and YWAM) and for Aboriginal, Tongan and Chinese believers.  With the closure of their former partner church in Hobart at the end of 2016 their new base church is Bethel Christian Fellowship, Geelong.

In 2020 they purchased their own home in the small Tasmanian town of Poatina. This has become a base from which to come and go. There is also option of inviting groups to come to them.

Since Covid 19 they have been running workshops, creative reflections, interactive reflection, teaching and studies via Zoom. This has given them an international profile.
