Our History

Peter and Kathryn Yaxley met whilst studying at the Bible College of South Australia.  After filling various ministry roles in Adelaide including leading Baptist 20+ and youth and sport’s ministry in Trinity Baptist Church, the Lord led them to South-East Tasmania in 2000. Though they went with thoughts to church plant they ended up serving the eight churches in their local region, facilitating combined prayer and outreach into primary and secondary schools including supporting school chaplaincy. They also became involved in serving their local town of Primrose Sands, where they joined the community hall committee and ran the local youth group. They hosted several travelling Christian ministries in the town during their time there.  Mentoring emerging leaders, both individuals and couples was something they also enjoyed.  They did this for 15 years (partnered by a Baptist church) as well as working with the local Christian Leader’s Network, Scripture Union, Fusion and YWAM.

After the devastating fires of 2013 in their region, change from this settled period of ministry was signalled. Emerging was a call to itinerant equipping ministry.  This season began in 2015 under the name of Kingdom Presence Ministries. Calling home their ute and slide on, they stepped into mobile ministry taking with them resources they had written and leading workshops on Hearing God and teaching about prayer.
